Electoral Roll Observer assesses progress in Special Summary Revision activities in West Jaintia Hills

Electoral Roll Observer, Isawanda Laloo, IAS on Friday visited West Jaintia Hills District to conduct a comprehensive review of various activities carried out within the district during the ongoing Special Summary Revision period with respect to the qualifying date of 01.01.2024. These activities included the enrolment of new electors, deletion of expired, shifted, and absent electors, as well as the correction of entries. She assessed the progress of different Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) activities implemented thus far.

During her visit, Isawanda held a meeting with the Electoral Registration Officer (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AEROs) of the five Assembly constituencies – 1- Nartiang AC, 2- Jowai AC, 3- Raliang AC, 4- Mowkaiaw AC, and 7- Amlarem AC, at the office chamber of the Deputy Commissioner, West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai.

She also had a meeting with the with representatives of political parties, addressing election-related matters within the district. She urged the political parties to appoint Booth Level Agents to facilitate a seamless election process by enhancing coordination between the electoral office and political parties

As part of the awareness campaign, Isawanda also launched the SVEEP awareness video on Special Summary Revision (SSR), which was created by the SVEEP Icon “Chi Iung.”
