EKH Deputy Commissioner issues notice to Telecom service providers

The Deputy Commissioner and Chairperson of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), East Khasi Hills District has issued a notice to all telecom service providers in the district.

The notice states that all Telecom Service Providers in East Khasi Hills District must regularly inspect their towers and take necessary measures to maintain or remove any that are no longer functional or are in dilapidated condition.

This is to prevent the collapse of towers during strong winds or heavy rainfall, which could cause property damage and potential injury or loss of life.

Failure to remove such towers will result in legal action in the event of damages to property and injury/loss of lives of citizens.
