EKH admin warns action against illegal collection of donation from commercial establishments

The district administration of East Khasi Hills on Thursday warned to take stern action against illegal collection of donation from commercial establishments.

The order issued by the district magistrate RM Kurbah prohibited collection of donation  in East Khasi Hills district and said, “Any violation of this order, will attract penalty under section 308 of the BNS and section 223 of the BNS.”

The order was based on reports about the illegal collection of donation from commercial establishment is being carried out by various groups in East Khasi Hills district.

Such collection of donation without obtaining necessary permission from the competent authority is a criminal offence and is liable to be prosecuted, it said.
