Eee Vee Nora Girls Hostel declared Containment Zone

The District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District in an order issued on Friday has declared the entire building and campus of Eee Vee Nora Girls Hostel, Mawlyndop, Mawlai Mawroh as a Containment Zone so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit on the site.

The order was issued based on the report received from the Incident Commander Zone-VII and the Medical Officer in charge of Mawroh PHC that a COVID-19 positive case was detected in Eee Vee Nora Girls Hostel, Mawlyndop, Mawlai Mawroh, which requires extensive contact tracing, isolation and testing for the interest of the health of general public to prevent against any possible spread of COVID-19, 

The order states that no person are allowed to move into the containment area and inhabitants within the area shall not move out and all inhabitants within the containment area shall strictly remain inside their home.

The Incident Commander, Zone-VII, Shillong shall supervise and monitor strict compliance of the order.

Any violation of the orders will entail prosecution under the penal provision of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and IPC. (MIPR)
