    In their continue fight against drugs, East Jaintia Hills District police arrested two persons smuggling drugs worth Rs.30 lakhs by misusing the interstate transit pass.

    According to SP, EJHD, on the intervening night of Monday/Tuesday, the ANTF East Jaintia Hills District, Ratacherra CP, Umkiang PP, Lumshnong Ps, Umtyra CP, Khliehriat PS and Ladrymbai OP contemplated on checking the drugs menace.

    In the course of action, the police recovered approximately 323 grams of Heroin having street value of approx. Rs. 30,000,00/ (Rupees Thirty Lakhs) from a vehicle at Deinchynrum and arrested 2 (two) persons.

    The SP acting on a professional manner preferred to confidentiality for the interest of the Investigation did not disclosed identity of the two persons.

    Apparently, the vehicle proceeded to Assam to procure Narcotic Drugs by misusing a Transit Pass. In this connection a case has been registered in Khliehriat Ps under various sections of IPC and NDPS Act.
