East Jaintia Hills District leads the way in Science Education with Astronomy Labs

In a first-of-its-kind initiative, East Jaintia District Administration has set up three Astronomy Labs at three different schools within the district.

These labs have over 70 types of instruments, including a 6″ GSO Dobsonian Telescope. The labs were sponsored by NETC under their CSR initiatives. These labs will act as a catalyst in increasing interest among the students regarding Astronomy and Science in general.

The lab at Ambrose Memorial School, Khliehriat, was inaugurated on Thursday by Minister and MLA of Khliehriat Constituency, Kyrmen Shylla, in the presence of the Deputy Commissioner, Abhilash Baranwal, school students, faculties, and parents.

The other two schools where it has been set up are Divine Words Secondary School, Lumshnong, and Latyrke Secondary School, Latyrke.
