East Jaintia Hills concludes Meghalaya’s largest youth wellbeing drive under DMF

The East Jaintia Hills District Administration has successfully concluded “ia ka Mynried,” Meghalaya’s largest youth engagement programme under the District Mineral Foundation (DMF), benefiting 2,429 students across 13 schools from December 2024 to April 2025.
Organised in partnership with Avenues, a leading personal excellence training organisation, the initiative focused on life skills, communication, emotional resilience, and drug-free awareness. Through immersive 24-hour camps, students participated in sessions on public speaking, teamwork, and self-expression.
Certification ceremonies at Good Shepherd HSS, Lad Rymbai and Sein Jait Tuber HSS, Tuberkmai Shnong, saw 346 and 262 students respectively complete the programme. A key highlight was the “Wellbeing Pledge,” where students committed to a drug-free life.
Deputy Commissioner Shivansh Awasthi, IAS, praised the programme for going beyond academics to shape confident, resilient youth, aligning with the Chief Minister’s DREAM vision. Principals and participants echoed its impact, calling it a transformative experience that built both character and confidence.
