Dry days declared in Khasi and Jaintia Hills

East Khasi Hills District Deputy Commissioner (Excise) has declared December 25, 2024, a Dry Day in observance of the Christmas Festival. All bonded warehouses, IMFL “OFF” & “ON” shops, home-made wine licensees, wine & beer licensees, home delivery licensees, canteens, and outstills will be closed on this date.

The District Magistrate of West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai, has declared December 24 and 25, 2024, and January 1, 2025, as Dry Days on account of Christmas and New Year’s Day. All IMFL wholesale vendors, IMFL (OFF) and IMFL (ON) shops, canteens, and outstills will be closed throughout the district on these dates.

In East Jaintia Hills District, the Deputy Commissioner has declared December 25, 2024, as a Dry Day for the entire district in observance of Christmas Day. All bonded wholesalers, IMFL retails, bars, canteens, and outstills will be closed on this day.

Any violations of this order will be taken seriously.
