    Continuing with their demolition drive against illegal coke factories in East Jaintia Hills District, the District Administration demolished Druk Fuels Limited, Nongjri in Elaka Sutnga with the use of explosives on Thursday.

    The demolition was under the supervision of J Shylla, MCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills, representatives from the Office of Superintendent of Police, East Jaintia Hills District, Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board, and District Commerce and Industries Centre.

    The battle against illegal coke plants is won but the war is on

    The Coke Factory was demolished as it was constructed without having Consent to Established (CTE) from Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board.

    Two illegal coke factories demolished, 30 more to go in East Jaintia Hills

    The demolition exercise will continue over the next few weeks against all illegally constructed Coke Plants within the district.
