Drug peddler held in Shillong

SHILLONG: A drug peddler was arrested along with 9.09 gram of heroin from 4th Mile Pynthor here on Tuesday. 

Wanaibok Kharumnuid was detained by local residents and village defense party (VDP) members before he was handed over to the ANTF team and Jhalupara outpost. 

Terming it as one of the best catch, Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills Claudia A Lyngwa congratulates the local Dorbar and VDP for seminal contribution in nabbing the drug peddler.

All the formalities of search and seizure were observed as per provisions of NDPS Act. 

It is to be noted that W Kharumnuid has been procuring drugs from Guwahati and sell them in 4th Mile area. The case has been registered under Section 21(b) NDPS Act and further investigation is on.
