A driver of the power minister James K Sangma has been suspected to have contracted the COVID-19 infection.

Sangma took to his social media handle and informed that his driver was declared in the antigen test but came out negative in the Truenat test.

“To be on the safe side, he has been quarantined in the Corona care centre at Tura and has also undergone an RT-PCR test for confirmation of his COVID status and we are awaiting the results,” the minister said in his facebook post.

Sangma, who is also the elder brother of the Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, said that he along with his family and staff were also tested today at Tura.

“As responsible citizens, me and my family along with my staff got ourselves tested for COVID-19 with the Antigen  and Truenat Tests today at Tura even though none of us came in contact with any COVID positive patients. All of us tested negative…,” he said.
