Dr. Majumdar inaugurates Rs 1.93 cr projects at Mukhla Behdeinkhlam

The vibrant culmination of the annual Behdeinkhlam festival at Mukhla was marked by a major cultural milestone, as Dr. Sukanta Majumdar, Minister of State for the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MoDONER), virtually inaugurated six cultural infrastructure projects worth Rs 1.93 crore across East and West Jaiñtia Hills.
The projects, funded by the North Eastern Council, benefit six Seinraij communities—Tuber, Ialong, Mukhla, Muthlong, Kongwasan Chyrmang, and Sohkympbor.
Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar attended the event as Guest of Honour, alongside Cabinet Minister Kyrmen Shylla, former Education Minister and MLA Lahkmen Rymbui, and MLAs Santa Mary Shylla, Damanbait Lamare, and Wailadmiki Shylla. Social worker Sunil V. Deodhar, NEC Secretary S.K. Bhalla, and Ki Raij Jaiñtia President Phrangki Pale also graced the occasion.
A highlight of the ceremony was the unveiling of the Vision Document 2028 for the Seinraij, presented by Phrangki Pale.
The festival’s spiritual climax was marked by the arrival of 14 traditional rots at Aitnar, symbolizing unity and renewal among the Jaiñtia communities.
