    The office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District, on Wednesday convened a meeting of the District Planning and Development Council (DPDC) at the NIC Conference Hall, Khliehriat.

    The meeting was chaired by Santa Mary Shylla, Chairperson of the Assembly Committee on Women Empowerment and MLA of Sutnga-Saipung. It was attended by East Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner Shivansh Awasthi (IAS), Rymbai-Khliehriat MDC Violet Lyngdoh, Additional Deputy Commissioner and DPDC Member Secretary S.R. Marak (MCS), heads of departments, and other officials.

    The session featured detailed presentations from various line departments on the physical and financial progress of ongoing State and Centrally Sponsored Schemes. Departments also highlighted challenges and opportunities in implementing these schemes.

    Schemes reviewed included MNREGS, PMAY-G, NSAP, SRWP, NRLM, JJM, PMKSY, PMJAY & MHIS, CM’s Safe Motherhood Scheme (CM-SMS), CM’s Social Assistance Scheme (CM-SAS), State Rice Mission, CM FARM+, CM Elevate, PM-ABHIM, Meghalaya State Aquaculture Mission (MSAM), PMMSY, SSA, PM-POSHAN, ICDS, PDS, Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin, PMEGP, and PM Vishwakarma, among others.

    In her concluding remarks, Shylla expressed gratitude to officials of the departments for their participation, stressing that the DPDC serves as a platform to assess development progress for the welfare of citizens. She assured full support to line departments in implementing projects across various sectors for the overall development of the district.
