    In minor bureacratic reshuffle, the Meghalaya Government on Tuesday entrusted the task of revamping the Meghalaya Energy Corporation to Donald P Wahlang, IAS as its new Chairman cum Managing Director.

    In a notification issued, the services of Donald P Wahlang, IAS, (RR:1993), Additional Chief Secretary to the Govt. of Meghalaya, Education Department etc., are partially placed at the disposal of Power Department for appointment as Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Meghalaya Energy Corporation Ltd. and its 3(three) subsidiaries viz., Meghalaya Power Generation Corporation Ltd. (MPGCL), Meghalaya Power Transmission Corporation Ltd. (MPTCL) & Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Ltd. (MPDCL) with effect from the date of taking over charge and until further orders.

    Further Wahlang who is Additional Chief Secretary, Secretariat Administration, Forests & Environment, Public Works Departments etc., shall also function as Additional Chief Secretary to the Govt. of Meghalaya, Home (Police) and Home (Political) Departments with effect from the date of taking over charge and until further orders.

    He is, however, relieved of his functions as Additional Chief Secretary to the Govt. of Meghalaya, Secretariat Administration, Forests & Environment & Public Works Departments with effect from the date of handing over charge

    Dr. Shakil P.Ahammed, IAS, (RR:95), Principal Secretary to the Govt. of Meghalaya, Water Resources, Mining & Geology Departments etc., shall also function as Principal Secretary to the Govt. of Meghalaya, Power Department with effect from the date of taking over charge and until further orders.

    He is, however, relieved of his functions as Principal Secretary to the Govt. of Meghalaya, Mining & Geology Department with effect from the date of handing over charge.

    C.V.D.Diengdoh, IAS, (RR:2010), Secretary to the Govt. of Meghalaya, Personnel & A.R., Finance Departments etc., and Director, Corporate Affairs, Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited and its 3(three) subsidiaries viz., Meghalaya Power Generation Corporation Ltd. (MPGCL), Meghalaya Power Transmission Corporation Ltd. (MPTCL) & Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Ltd. (MPDCL) shall also function as Secretary, Law Department & Legal Remembrancer and as Secretary, Parliamentary Affairs Department with effect from the date of taking over charge and until further orders.

    On his services having been replaced at the disposal of Personnel & A.R.(A) Department by the Power Department, Shri C.V.D.Diengdoh, IAS, (RR:2010) is however, relieved of his functions as Director, Corporate Affairs, Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited and its 3(three) subsidiaries viz., Meghalaya Power Generation Corporation Ltd. (MPGCL), Meghalaya Power Transmission Corporation Ltd. (MPTCL) & Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Ltd. (MPDCL) with effect from the date of handing over charge.

    The services of Ambrose Ch.Marak, IAS, (SCS:2011), Secretary to the Govt. of Meghalaya, Education Department, Director, School Education and Literacy etc., are partially placed at the disposal of Power Department for appointment as Director, Corporate Affairs, Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited and its 3(three) subsidiaries viz., Meghalaya Power Generation Corporation Ltd. (MPGCL), Meghalaya Power Transmission Corporation Ltd. (MPTCL) & Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Ltd. (MPDCL) with effect from the date of taking over charge and until further orders.

    He shall also function as Secretary to the Govt. of Meghalaya, Personnel & A.R. Department with effect from the date of taking over charge and until further orders.
