Donald is new Meghalaya Chief Secretary

The Meghalaya Government on Wednesday appointed Donald P Wahlang, IAS (RR: 1993) as the new Chief Secretary of Meghalaya with effect from the date of superannuation of R.V. Suchiang, IAS (RR: 1989), Chief Secretary on 31st July this year.

Wahlang is presently the additional Chief Secretary to the Govt. of Meghalaya, Education, PHE, Home (Political) & Home (Police) Departments. He is also Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited and its 3 (three) subsidiaries viz, Meghalaya Power Generation Corporation Ltd. (MPGCL), Meghalaya Power Transmission Corporation Ltd. (MPTCL) & Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Ltd. (MPDCL).

On assumption of charge as Chief Secretary to the Govt. of Meghalaya, D.P. Wahlang, IAS (RR: 1993) shall also function as State Vigilance Commissioner, Meghalaya.
