    The Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District, Khliehriat appealed to the general public and villagers residing along bank of River Lukha to not consume the dead fish from the river as it may cause serious health problems.

    The advisory was issued after complaint was received regarding fish that were found dead and were seen floating on the water surface of Lukha River in East Jaintia Hills District on Wednesday.

    It has also been reported that people from nearby villages went to collect dead fishes from the aforementioned river.
