Do not answer any call or message from international & unknown numbers

The Meghalaya Police has appealed to the general public to avoid answering any calls or messages from international and unknown numbers.

Informing East Jaintia Hills District SP said that certain accounts on facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp or any other Social Media website may be involved in illegal activities like Cyber frauds, financial frauds, impersonation etc.

He also cited a detail of one such suspicious mobile number “+234-9039372719” with the name Elena After, which is a suspicious facebook profile.

He also urged the general public of such activities and reports on the Cyber tipline –1930 in case of any such event.
