DLSA Khliehriat to facilitate Aadhaar for undocumented children

The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) has launched the SAATHI Campaign—Survey for Aadhaar and Access to Tracking & Holistic Inclusion—to ensure legal identity and access to welfare schemes for destitute and undocumented children under Article 39(c) and (f) of the Constitution.
The initiative targets children living on the streets, in slums, railway stations, orphaned or abandoned, and those in unregistered childcare homes without Aadhaar cards, which are crucial for accessing education, healthcare, and government benefits.
Aadhaar registration will be held at the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), East Jaintia Hills District, Khliehriat from 27th June to 5th August 2025, during office hours.
DLSA will also assist with birth certificates, school admissions, welfare schemes, and provide legal protection under child rights laws.
The public can support the campaign by reporting undocumented children, volunteering for surveys or camps, and raising awareness.
