District level Science, Mathematics & Environment exhibition held in NGH

The district level Science, Mathematics & Environment exhibition for children 2023 – 2024 was held for the students of North Garo Hills district on Thursday at Dekachang Community Hall, Resubelpara.
Six schools of the district showcased and elaborated their models based on the theme “Science & Technology for Society” wherein St Thomas Higher Sec. School, Mendipathar was adjudged the best model and selected to represent the district at the State level.
Addressing the cohort of students as the chief guest, NGH’s Additional Deputy Commissioner, Tennystar Marak pressed upon them to have sound understanding for Science, Mathematics subjects thereby inculcating interest in those subjects and try to solve local problems through their applications.
He also advocated the importance of learning, develop inquisitiveness for various science projects and models which according to him was crucial for enhancing problem solving skills.

The exhibition organized by the District School Education Officer, Resubelpara aims to ignite scientific temperament in the minds of the students by enabling them to solve daily problem through the application of science, mathematics and environment.
4th position holder in the recently announced MBOSE SSLC 2024 results, Miss Wanma Sangma of St. Thomas Higher Sec. School, who was felicitated for her achievement during the programme interacted with her fellow students and shared her success mantra with them. She advised them to have a desire for success and strive to achieve it with determination.
Among other dignitaries present during the programme were Principal St Thomas Higher Secondary School Sister Lalita Lakra, Resubelpara’s DSEO Samar Dey and SDSEO WG Momin.
