Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Urban Affairs, Sniawbhalang Dhar on Wednesday extended financial assistance to Steve Jyrwa, who is representing the state in the India’s Best Dancer held at Mumbai.

He also urged the people of the state to extend their full support to Jyrwa  by voting for him.

Dhar also met and handed over Rs 50,000 to Jyrwa’s mother in presence of the president of All Meghalaya Dancers’ Association (AMDA) Kitbok Thabah during a meeting at his office chamber here.

“I am happy to meet the parent of Jyrwa, who is presenting the state in the India’s Best Dancers. He is in the top 6 and we urge the people of the state to vote for him as his victory will also be the victory of the state,” Dhar said.

“I have extended financial help of Rs 50,000 through his family and I wish him the very best,” he added.

Steve Jyrwa from War Nongmynsong  has been selected to the India’s Best Dancers and he is representing the state of Meghalaya. The AMDA has requested the state government to support talents like Jyrwa financially during the ongoing competition.
