Demthring Bi-Species Abattoir set to open in December, Lahkmen Rymbui announces

The long-awaited Bi-species Abattoir at Demthring, West Jaintia Hillls District will be made operational on December this year announced Lahkmen Rymbui on Monday.

Lahkmen Rymbui MLA Amlarem and Adviser to Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, along with AL Hek, Minister of AH & Veterinary, officers, headmen, and elders of the village, inspected Bi Species abattoir.

In his post on X, he stated that the remaining work will be completed by the end of this month. The abattoir will be made operational and inaugurated on December 16 this year.

It may be mentioned that Rs 7.65 crore was sanctioned for the construction of the mechanized abattoir at Demthring. The work was allotted in September 2012 and the land of 4 Acre was donated by the Dorbar Shnong of Demthring to the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary department.
