Delay in construction of NH-6 due to use of cement concrete: Shylla

Cabinet Minister and UDP legislator from Khliehriat, Kyrmen Shylla on Monday assured that the government is committed to ensure completion of the ongoing repairing of the National Highway-6, despite the challenges.
He acknowledged the delays in the construction of road in his district, particularly the Khliehriat-Ratacherra road.
Speaking to media persons, Shylla said that the delay was due to the use of cement concrete for the road construction, which requires more time to heal compared to black topping.
He explained that the road is being constructed with cement concrete, a first in the area, which takes longer to complete due to the healing process.
He cited the challenge of allowing vehicle movement during construction, which limits the working hours and slows down the process.
Shylla appealed to the public and road users to bear with the delays, emphasizing that the completed road will benefit the people and provide long-term benefits.
“I request public and road users to kindly bear with us as it is just a matter of time when we complete the road, they will not remember what had happened in the past because this road will benefit our people. This road will give justice to the people,” he said.
He assured that the government will do its best to speed up the work and complete the road as soon as possible.
Shylla also stated that the government is committed to completing the road project, despite the challenges, and that the benefits of the road will outweigh the temporary inconveniences.
He urged the public to be patient and understanding, assuring them that the road will provide justice to the people and improve their quality of life.
