Declared holiday on November 30: KSU to Banks

The Khasi Students’ Union South West Khasi Hills District has urged all Commercial Banks and Financial institutions within the District to observe November 30 as a Holiday as a mark of respect to Sngap Sing Sylem, a Freedom fighter of Hima Maharam.

The KSU made the demand in a letter to The Branch Managers of the following banks namely State Bank of India, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Meghalaya Rural Bank, Meghalaya Cooperative Apex Bank, Punjab National Bank and North East Small Finance Bank besides the Post Masters of Post Office in Mawkyrwat/Ranikor Branch.

The letter informed that on November 30, next all government offices, revenue, magisterial courts and educational institutions in South West Khasi Hills District will remain closed on account of u Sngap Sing Syiem Day.
