    The District Magistrate, West Jaintia Hills in the notification issued on 19th April, 2020 informed that movement of the following sections of the people and vehicles shall not be restricted:-

    All Medical Officers and Staff of Health Department, Government of Meghalaya with PASSES issued by DM&HO, West Jaintia Hills.

    All Officers and Staff of the Department of Government working with Corona Care Centres and Quarantine facilities with passed issued by District Heads of offices.

    Government employee of District Heads and other Essential Officers working on COVID-19 matters with passes issued by the District Heads of Offices.

    MGNREGA, Agricultural and A.H & Vety. Activities with PASSES issued by the Head of District Offices.

    Movement of Vehicles carrying fodder and animal products with PASSES issued by the District AH & Vety Officer, Jowai.


    Movement of Vehicles carrying fertilizer and Power Tillers with PASSES issued by the District Agriculture.

    Movement of Water Tanker with PASSES issued by the Executive Engineer. PHE. Electrical Division Officer, Jowai.

    Movement of Vehicles carrying Areca Nuts and Beetle Leave with PASSES issued by the District Magistrate, West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai or Addl. Deputy Commissioner, incharge Amlarem (Civil) Sub-Division, Amlarem. 

    Movement of Vehicles carrying Broom Sticks with necessary permission issued by the District Magistrate. West Jaintia Hills shall not be restricted.

    However, the District Magistrate has strictly instructed all to use mask, not to spit in public, places, to maintain Social Distancing of 1 metre, to follow Cough etiquette and to regularly wash hands with Soap and Water. Violation if any will be punishable as under Section 51(6) of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
