  • COVID-19: Staff quarters behind Raj Bhavan in Shillong declared micro containment

    Due to the detection of positive COVID-19 cases/high risk contacts which requires contact tracing, testing and isolation to be effected in the interest of the health of the general public to prevent against any possible spread of COVID-19, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District in an order issued on 14th September, 2020 has declared the staff quarters behind the Raj Bhavan Campus, Shillong as a micro-containment area so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit on the site.

    The order states that no persons are allowed to move into the containment area and inhabitants within this area shall not move out, besides all inhabitants within the containment area shall strictly remain inside their homes.

    The Incident Commander, Zone III, Shillong shall supervise and monitor strict compliance of the order.

    Any violation of the order will entail prosecution under the penal provision of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and IPC. 

    In another order, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District after the detection of COVID-19 positive case has directed the Area Accounts Office, Shillong to temporarily remain closed until further orders.
