East Khasi Hills District, Deputy Commissioner, Isawanda Laloo on Monday has issued an order to take actions against the violators of Covid-19 protocols.

In her order, she said it has come to her notice that some people who tested positive did not adhere to the 10-day mandatory period home isolation. Further some persons who have been tested COVID-19 positive went outside their homes for multiple tests in different health facilities, violating the protocols and putting people around at risk by breaking the protocol of home isolation and guidelines of Health and Family Welfare protocols.

Deputy Commissioner stated that any positive persons found stepping out and violating the mandatory isolation period will be prosecuted under the Meghalaya Epidemic Disease Regulations, 2020.

Also stated in the order, Incident Commanders, in collaboration with the area Medical Officer and with the assistance of CCMT, will take steps to ensure proper home isolation of all positive individuals in order to contain the virus.
