  • COVID-19: More houses made micro containment in Shillong

    The District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District on Wednesday has declared more houses and compounds as micro-containment after the dectection of positive COVID-19 cases in Shillong.

    The new micro containment are namely:
    House of (Late) Smti Minati Chakraborty, Laban  Last Stop, Near Purbasha Guest House.

    Flat B 2, Sutnga Apartment, Streamlet Road, Laban.

    House of Shri R Paul (tenant) in the compound of (Late) Shri K Majaw, Madan Laban (Rum).

    House of Shri Raymond J Nongrum, Child Friendly School, Lawsohtun Block 5.

    Compound of Smti Iakmenlang Khyriem and Smti. Sngewbhalang Khyriem (including the tenants) at Nongkhyriem Block-4, Nongthymmai, Shillong.

    House of Mrs. Siantimon Diengdoh at Lawjynriew Lumkut.

    House of Sawan Singh Raso, Sweeper Colony, Mawlonghat.

    The order restrict unregulated entry and exit in the affected areas as they requires contact tracing, testing and isolation to be effected in the interest of health of general public to prevent against any possible spread of COVID-19.

    In another order, the District Magistrate has lifted the containment order of Suleiman Compound at Lumdiengjri, while the houses of Roshan Ali,  Altaf Hussain, Asmad Alam and Zalim Alam are still retained as micro containment areas.

    The containment order has also withdrawn from house of Roipar Khongain at Lower Mawprem. However, the remaining areas contained as per the order issued on 23rd September, 2020 is still retained as a micro containment area.
