  • COVID-19: More houses declared micro containment in EKH

    The District Magistrate East Khasi Hills District has declared more houses as micro containment in Shillong and in Lumsohriew village under Mawphlang C&RD Block after the detection of COVID-19 cases.

    The new micro containment are namely:
    Compound of Mr Algino Sangot at Nongrimmaw Shillong
    House of Smti Oklin Kharbhih, Smti Phaitimai Kharbhih, Smti Mitimai Kharbhih, Smti Lilin Kharbhih, Smti Bibiana Kharkrang, Shri Koshon Sohlang and Shri Jopkupar Kharbhih at Lumsohriew village under Mawphlang C&RD Block.

    The order issued restrict unregulated entry and exit movement in the affected areas from 15th September, 2020 as they requires contact tracing, testing and isolation to be effected in the interest of health of general public to prevent against any possible spread of COVID-19.

    In another order, the District Magistrate has directed Satyanarayan Jiwan Ram, Police Bazaar, Shillong and J.B. Textiles, Police Bazaar, Shillong to temporarily remain closed until further orders. The closure order was issued after two persons were tested COVID-19 positive.

    Further, the District Magistrate has also lifted the containment for the house of Smti Biola Mawthoh (tenant) in the compound of Smti Y. Mawniuh, Mynsain, Mawnei, Lower Lumparing with effect from 15th September, 2020.

    Grace Hotel allowed reopening
    The Deputy Commissioner has also allowed Grace Hotel, Jail Road, Shillong to resume operation with effect from 15th September, 2020 following strict compliance of all the norms, SOPs and advisories of Health and Family Welfare Department.
