COVID-19 Containment Measures extended in East Jaintia Hills

The District Magistrate, East Jaintia Hills District has extended containment measures in the district from 4 PM of June 14 till 5 Am of June 21 after there has been no respite from the surge in the number of COVID-19 cases.

The order states that labourers/employees engaged in private sectors/factories which involve movement within the same village/ locality are permitted to attend work but limiting to 50% of the normal strength.

Further, farmers/labourers are permitted to carry out their activities only if movement is within the same village/ locality. Persons travelling to vaccination sites will also be allowed subject to verification of having registered for vaccination.
