Correction: Hearing date for four Meghalaya political parties

In our earlier report published on 20 August 2025 under the caption “EC issues notices to four Meghalaya political parties before potential delisting”, it was incorrectly mentioned that the hearing for the parties would be held on 3rd September 2025.

Correction: The correct date for the hearing is 2nd September 2025.

The hearing concerns four registered political parties—Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM), Meghalaya Democratic Party (MDP), North East Social Democratic Party (NESDP), and Regional Democratic Secular Congress (RDSC)—which are facing possible delisting by the Election Commission due to inactivity in elections since 2019.
