    The District Magistrate of East Jaintia Hills District on Monday has lifted the containment zone order partially from Star Cement.

    In an order issued, the District Magistrate said “The containment zone i.e MTEPL, CMCL only can be lifted after proper sanitization of all the plants and the parking lot of trucks.”

    ” As reported by the Health Department, East Jaintia Hills District that contact
    tracing Team has been completed for all the high risk contact of the positive cases at Star Cement plant, Lumshnong, therefore the Containment order vide No EJHD/Con.11/2013/Pt./32, Dated Khliehriat, the 11h September 2020 is hereby lifted for MTEPL, CMCL only but the places where the positive cases are staying can be still kept
    under micro containment to prevent the spread of the infection,” the order said.

    In addition, the District Magistrate has instructed that all truck drivers entering and coming out of the cement plants should wear mask and follow hand hygiene and not to mix with the workers/staff of the plants.

    • All the truck drivers coming to the plants should be registered with the full details and vehicle details.
    • All truck drivers should be tested every 10th day.
    • All truck drivers coming into/out of the plant should not stop anywhere all along the
      way.
    • All drivers desiring to go home should report to the village headman and they should be tested before going home.
