    East Khasi Hills District Magistrate has declared Five more COVID-19 containment areas in Shillong for detecting high risk contacts as to contain the spread of COVID-19.

    This includes the house occupied by Smti Sanjita Das and Shri U. Deb in the compound of Smti I. Kharmudai, Riat Laban East, Madan Laban, building of Nevelda Nongrum building and Ram Niwas compound at Pynthorumkhrah-Golflink, compound of B. Dohling compound at Mawkhar Main Road.

    The order restricted unregulated entry and exit movement in the affected areas from 26th August, 2020 which require aggressive contact tracing, quarantine, testing and isolation as well as containment in the interest of the health of the general public against any possible spread of COVID-19.

    The District Magistrate in an order issued has also lifted containment order from August 26 in the house of Shri B. Marbaniang, Riat Laban East, Madan Laban and in the cottage of Swarnalata Kutir, House no. 312, C/O Kanai Lal Dey, Near Nepali UP School, Mynsain, Lower Lumparing.

    The containment order has lifted based on the contact tracing status and test reports of the high risk contacts.
