    The district administration of West Jaintia Hills, Garod LSN Dykes has extended the validity of containment zone in Jowai locality till August 1 in order to effectively complete the contact tracing of all high-risk and low-risk contacts of the index cases.

    West Jaintia Hills district magistrate in an order issued here on Tuesday extended the time of containment zone for the interest and safety of other residents of Loomsooiung Newhill Jowai under Ladthadlaboh PHC on the recommendation of District Health and Medical Officer, West Jaintia Hills District.

    The order restricted unregulated movement and exit movement in the affected area from from 6 Am of 29th July, 2020 to 6.00 AM of 1 August.

    No person and public are allowed to move into the containment area and inhabitants within the containment area shall not move out, except for medical emergencies and essential goods and services.

    Gatherings, events, functions whatsoever of any nature and forms are not allowed.

    All shopping establishments of whatsoever nature are to close immediately.

    Any unauthorized entry and exit into the notified Containment Zone is barred till the area is declared safe as per guidelines of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.

    The order also states that any violation of the order will entail prosecution under the penal provision of section 51 (b) of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 read with section 188 IPC.
