    The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Jaintia Hills District in a press release issued here informs the general public that the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 has come into force with effect from 20th July, 2020. As per provisions of the new Act, a consumer has the choice to file a complaint in the Consumer Commission electronically and from a place of his/ her convenience.

    A web application (http//edaakhil.nic.in) has also been launched on the 7th of September, 2020 for electronically filing of consumer complaints/ appeals/ revision petition in the NCDRC.
