    The Meghalaya Government will commence the construction of two Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) in the State namely in Amlarem, District West Jaintia Hills and Nongstoin, West Khasi Hills District shortly.

    The construction of EMRS including School Building with separate Boys Hostel of 240 Students intake with i/c wardens residence with integrated Kitchen & Dining.

    The EMRS complex will house an exclusive Girls Hostel (240 Students) i/c Wardens residence with integrated Kitchen & Dining.

    There will Staff Residence of 26 numbers including one as Principal residence; 15 numbers of Type-III quarters for Teaching Staff residence with one integrated guest house at GF.

    10 number of Type-Il quarters for Non-teaching Staff residence) including Internal Water supply & Sanitary installations, Electrical installations, Drainage, Compound Wall, Development of Site and Bulk Services (Civil & Electrical) and furniture for school and hostel each (single phase).

    The EMRS in Amlarem will be constructed at a total cost of Rs. 45,79,99,000 while an amount of Rs. 45,64,27,000 will be incurred for constructing the EMRS in Nongstoin.

    Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui said the EMRS in Amlarem will be constructed in Umladkhur village.
