The Group of Ministers (GoM) on Casinos, Race Course and Online Gaming headed by Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Wednesday decided to soon submit its  report and recommendations to the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

Sangma took to twitter and informed that the meeting has come to a consensus.

“The report of our submissions will be handed over to Hon’ble FM, Nirmala Sitharaman Ji in a day or two & the matter will be presented in the next GST Council Meeting. Thank all members for their cooperation & Hon’ble FM for giving us this task,”he said.

When asked, Sangma said that all the decisions and recommendations made have been based on existing laws that are in place and existing rulings from the Supreme Court.

“We also looked at the aspect of the growth of different sectors, we also looked at the aspect of ensuring that the entrepreneurs and the businesses all these aspects also will be considered as I have said the GoM have to take a consistent view and based on that we have submitted the report.”

According to him, very soon the GST Council will take a call on the recommendations of the group.
