Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and his Assam counterpart Himanta Biswa Sarma will hold the next round of talks over the inter-state border dispute on Wednesday.

The meeting will be held at Hotel Radison Blu, Guwahati at 1 pm.

Conrad Sangma will be accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong, cabinet ministers along with other top officials.

This will be the fourth round of meeting held between the two chief ministers.

This was also after the six Regional Committees, three from Meghalaya and three from Assam have submitted their respective reports to the two chief ministers after conducting field visits and inspections and a series of discussions.

The two state governments have expressed their interest in resolving the first phase of six areas of difference.

The six areas of difference include Tarabari (4.69 sq km), Gizang (13.53 sq km), Hahim (3.51 sq km), Boklapara (1.57 sq kms), Khanapara-Pilangkata (2.29 sq kms) and Ratacherra (11.20 sq kms).

The first meeting was held at Shillong on July 23, 2021 followed by the second meeting at Guwahati on August 6, 2021.
