    Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said that the state government is committed to clear the pending bills to contractors.

    Replying to a zero hour notice moved by Congress legislator PT Sawkmie in the Assembly here on Monday, the chief minister said the state government is making all out efforts to clear all pending bills.

    He informed that a total amount of Rs 1768 crore pending bills was cleared in the last financial year.

    According to him, this was much higher compared to the previous years. He said in 2016-17, pending bills of Rs 1338 crore was cleared while Rs 1534 crore in 2017-18.
