Congress accuses NPP-led govt of favouring corruption

The opposition Congress on Wednesday made a serious allegation against the ruling government by saying that large corruption is being led from the chief minister’s office (CMO).
Speaking to media persons, AICC joint secretary Anthony Mathew said that the political executive meeting of the MPCC held today has raised issues on the exorbitant corruption allegations against the NPP government.
“…where everything and anything is for sale, which has increased the cost of living, difficulties, burden of the people of Meghalaya starting from water scam to other scams. You touch anything, it is a scam,”he stated.
“Everything is going out of control and the chief minister is not being able to exercise any control over his administration because large corruption is being led from the chief minister’s office and hence the lower level corruption cannot be addressed to, which is a concern being raised by the Congress workers during the political executive committee,” Mathew further alleged.
In view of this, the AICC leader informed the Congress has resolved to take up and study all these matters and issues for the interest of the people of Meghalaya.
