CM Conrad Sangma seeks comprehensive plan to rejuvenate Umsohlang-Umshing stream

Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Thursday convened a meeting to discuss the implementation of the rejuvenation project for the Umsohlang-Umshing stream at Mawlai.

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma told reporters that the rejuvenation project came up after his visit to Mawlai Kynton Massar, where he had participated in the cleaning drive of the Umsohlang-Umshing stream and announced to take up a mission-mode project.

He said the idea is to start with these streams and make the project into an example or model for other streams in other localities and communities to follow.

The chief minister has also asked the department concerned to come up with a comprehensive plan for implementing the project.

“We expect the comprehensive plan will be submitted by May 31,” he said.
