  • CM assures to shift CRPF camp from Mawlai

    MDC of Mawlai constituency Teiborlang Pathaw and 9 headmen from Mawlai called on the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister today to discuss the current state of affairs in Mawlai.

    The delegation put forward their request for a judicial enquiry on the incident that happened on August 13. CM has apprised the delegation that the Cabinet in its meeting today had decided to constitute a judicial enquiry. 

    The delegation also submitted a memorandum requesting the shifting of the temporary CRPF Camp in Mawlai which has been standing on the land belonging to the Arts & Culture Department. CM has briefly discussed the same with the IG of CRPF who has requested the State Government to requisition an alternative location and a permanent site where CRPF can set up its Camp.

    CM, together with the Deputy CM has assured the delegation that immediate steps will be taken to shift the CRPF Camp from Mawlai.

    CM and Deputy CM urged the delegation to play an active role in order to ensure peace is restored in Mawlai area and Shillong city.
