A clouded leopard cub was spotted in Jowai on the evening of October 14, near the jungle behind Thomas Jones Synod College.

The cub was seen at a garbage dumping area near the bridge connecting Dulong, Thomas Jones and Dr. Norman Tunnel Hospital.

The local resident who captured the sighting was happy to see the rare animal and urged others not to harm it.

He also called on the Forest Department to conduct a survey to check if a possible habitat exists nearby, as the clouded leopard is the state animal of Meghalaya.
