Closure of schools in Shillong courtesy Bryan Adams concert

In view of Bryan Adams concert in Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium on Tuesday, the Meghalaya Education Department has notified that all schools within the municipal limits of Shillong will remain closed on the said day i.e December 10 this year.

The Education Department received a request from the Director of Tourism, Govt. of Meghalaya vide letter No. M/D-TOUR.10/2016/PT dated 9th December, 2024 regarding a large scale program on Tuesday in Shillong.

Due to the magnitude of the event, the Tourism department anticipated a large influx of attendees which may result in significant traffic congestion coupled with traffic restrictions to be imposed within the city.
