Closure of schools in areas adjoining Shillong

The Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills has in an Order issued on 29^th April, 2021 declared the closure of schools w.e.f 1st -8th May 2021 in areas adjoining Shillong agglomeration, i.e. Mylliem C&RD Block, Mawpat C&RD Block, Mawlai C&RD Block, Mawkynrew C&RD Block, Mawryngkneng C&RD Block and Mawphlang C&RD Block.

The order came in view of the rapid rise of Covid-19 cases in the district which is affecting both the young and old alike, and in light of the fact that a number of positive cases have been detected in rural areas and in order to contain the spread of Covid-19 in the District.
