    The Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District, Khliehriat in a press release issued here informs all the residents of East Jaintia Hills District, that as per the Order by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India vide Writ Petition (Civil) No. 539 of 2021, all ex gratia claimants should claim compensation within sixty days from the date of expiry due to COVID-19 prior to 20.03.2022.

    However, for deaths occurring after 20.03.2022, ninety days time is provided from the date of expiry due to COVID-19 to file the claim for compensation.

    The beneficiaries should bring along the required documents to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, which include the Application, Death Certificate from the Competent Authority, Cause of Death, Bank Details, Epic, and Contact Details.
