Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma visited Amit Singhania’s building at Police Bazar Shillong, which was completely burnt down in a massive fire that broke out on Saturday afternoon.

The four-storey building which had several godowns and housed the family of Singhanias was ravaged in the incident.

The fire tenders are still trying to put of the fire. It is almost 40 hours plus and the fire is yet to be completely doused.

Chief Minister is reviewing the entire incident with Chief Secretary, DGP and other high-ranking officials.

It may be mentioned that the Saturday fire incident has set a record of sorts as the fire is yet to be completely doused. Remnants of the ravage can be seen as the CM and the officials make their way to the building covered in masks.

The fire claimed the life of Sampath Singh Jangir working as a manager at Bhajanlal.
