    Sherwood School Tura top the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) Examination, the result of which was declared by the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) here on Monday.                                 

    Chetna Bose of Sherwood School, Tura became the topper for this year by scoring 568 marks.

    Sainava Modak from St. Thomas Higher Secondary School, Shillong became second by scoring 565 marks and Ainamdaphisha P Byrsat from Little Flower School, Shillong came third by scoring 561 marks.

    A total of 50081 candidates have appeared for the exams out of which 25195 were declared successful by the Board from 143 centres across the Khasi, Jaintia and Garo Hills region.

    West Jaintia Hills District recorded the highest pass percentage at 69.96 per cent followed by East Jaintia Hills at 69.00 per cent while South Garo Hills is with the lowest at 26.57 percent.

    The overall pass percentage, for both regular and non-regular, was pegged at 50.31 percent.
