The Centre will take a call on issues including the Meghalaya Residents Safety and Security Act (MRSSA) after discussion with the chief minister, Conrad K Sangma on his next visit to New Delhi.

A statement issued by the Raj Bhavan on Wednesday informed that the Governor, Satya Pal Malik had met Union Home Minister Amit Shah yesterday and discussed issues relevant to the state including the MRSSA.

“However, it was conveyed that any major decision on any or all matters raised by Governor will only be taken once the Union Home Minister meets and discusses with Chief Minister of Meghalaya Conrad Sangma in New Delhi in the Chief Minister’s next visit to New Delhi which may be facilitated shortly,” said the statement.
