    In view of the outbreak of COVID-19 (Corona Virus Disease) in China and transmission to other countries wherein few cases have been reported in India, Social Welfare Department has come up with the following advisories:

    1. Child Development Project Officers shall generate awareness about the advisories given by the Health Department and provide right information so that people will not panic but respond to the situation with more responsibility.
    2. Child Development Project Officers, Anganwadi Workers are to allay fears of the people and provide right information of the Dos and Don’ts in respect of COVID-19.
    3. Child Development Project Officers are to remain in touch with the District Medical & Health Officers of the District.
    4. Social distancing, hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette are to be maintained in all Anganwadi Centres, Child Care Institutions (CCIs) and Juvenile Homes.
    5. All inmates of Juvenile Homes, Child Care Institutions (CCIs) shall be checked regularly by the existing medical officers for any symptoms of COVID-19.
    6. Any new inmate to be kept in the Juvenile Home shall be checked by a medical officer or para medical staff before allowing entry to Juvenile Home Dormitories.
    7. Visitors to the Juvenile Homes shall require to maintain utmost hygiene before entry.
    8. Hand sanitizers, soaps shall be made available for mandatory hand sanitization by all staff, officers, inmates, visitors.
    9. All Social Welfare Officers are to ensure safety and protection of women, children, pregnant and lactating mothers and adolescent girls. Necessary care and counseling needs to be provided to build their capacity with right information and guidance.
