The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Shillong, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, in collaboration with Ramakrishna Mission, Shillong, celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2025 under the nationwide ‘Yoga Sangam’ initiative with a special session at the Mission premises in Laitumkhrah.

The event was graced by Swami Hitakamananda Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Shillong, along with Swami Divyaswarupananda Maharaj, Swami Vedeshananda Maharaj, and other monks.

In his address, Swami Vedeshananda emphasized yoga’s role in uniting body, mind, and breath, calling it a universal practice for well-being beyond cultural or religious boundaries. He elaborated on the theme—“Yoga for One Earth, One Health”—highlighting yoga’s relevance in promoting balance, sustainability, and inner peace.

Participants, including students, teachers, parents, NCC cadets, CBC officials, and volunteers, followed the Common Yoga Protocol led by instructors from Meghalaya Yog Samiti. The session included loosening exercises, asanas, pranayama, and guided meditation.

Swami Hitakamananda called yoga India’s timeless gift, urging regular practice for physical vitality and spiritual growth. A short quiz on IDY added a fun and engaging touch, with winners receiving certificates and prizes.

To continue the spirit of IDY, a free three-day Yoga Camp will be held at Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Police Bazar, from 22–24 June 2025 (4:00–5:30 PM). All are welcome to join and embrace the path of holistic health and mindfulness.
